[What is Hoodia? | Hoodia Benefits | Hoodia is a natural appetite suppressant | Hoodia is a natural appetite suppressant] [CBS "60 Minutes" | Hoodia Can Help You Eat Less | Stifle Hunger | Diabetes & Parkinson's]
I States CBS correspondent Leslie Stahl in advance of release of the segment, "I can't tell you what we found, but I can give you a hint. Do you think we would do a story if it didn't work?" In an article titled Hoodia Can Help You Eat Less, Life Enhancement Magazine in its December, 2004 issue, explored the discovery of the appetite suppressing qualities of Hoodia. Research uncovered the role of its active ingredient, P57, in appetite suppression. A potent appetite suppressant comes to us from a Stone Age people in a remote desert. So begins another article in the August, 2004 issue of Life Enhancement Magazine. Read Stifle Hunger with Hoodia here.
However, what CBS is unlikely to disclose is that Hoodia may also operate to reverse diabetes. Furthermore, because it achieves its energy-enhancing effect by increasing the universal-energy molecule adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in the hypothalamus - the brain's center for the control of certain primitive physical and emotional functions, such as sleep, mood, temperature regulation, sex drive, heart rate, and appetite - Hoodia may serve to address the decline of the central nervous system. This is especially true in certain disorders where levels of ATP drop precipitously in the hypothalamus, such as in Parkinson's disease. We don't know of a single other nutrient (or drug) which may be able to reverse an ATP crash.
