Lack of Sunlight May Increase Lung Cancer
Lack of sunlight increases the risk of lung cancer, suggests a study of rates of the disease in over 100 countries, published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health. Lung cancer kills over a million people every year around the globe.
The link between cancer and sunlight is chemically plausible, say the authors, because laboratory research has shown that vitamin D can halt tumor growth by promoting the factors responsible for cell death in the body.

The lack of UVB exposure has been shown by Dr. Grant to increase the risk of most cancers including breast, prostate and colon cancer. Data on oral vitamin D is lacking because we have not done the studies. Vitamin D like substances are being tested in many research centers in conjunction with standard therapies for cancer with encouraging results. If you have cancer you should certainly normalize your vitamin D level with sun and/or supplements.
